Square Toe Shoes Are Winning Autumn So Here Are 22 Of The Best

From stiletto pointed ankle boots to go-go boots and Western boots, we've trialled pretty much every style of footwear going. But this season we're cosying up with fashion's numero uno shoe silhouette: the square toe.
Pushing the trend to the front of our minds are new brands like Nodaleto, which popped onto the scene back in February with a variety of square toe models, from Mary Janes to knee-high boots. Its dreamy shoes quickly garnered the attention of IG cool girls like Camille Charrière, who rocked this season's ultimate sartorial power couple: boots and a mini skirt.
Established names like Balenciaga, with its trademark overzealous square toe detailing, and Bottega Veneta under the leadership of Daniel Lee are doing their bit, too, to drum up square toe fever. Browns women's shoe buyer, Ellie Peter, says nostalgia and versatility play a big role in the revival. "The '90s theme in general has been super strong across ready-to-wear and footwear for AW19 and the square toe boot brings you back to the era in a really sophisticated and updated way. It’s rare to find such an easy and versatile trend that’s great for both day and night dressing, it’s a one boot fits all! Bottega Veneta and Manu Atelier have really owned the trend for us this season and we’ve seen a strong reaction to all styles across designer and contemporary brands."
We'll be pairing ours with a mini skirt and monogram tights or with straight leg jeans, a patterned knit and an oversized coat. Read ahead for the major styles we're stomping around in this season...
