Finally — A Simple Guacamole Recipe You Can Make Every Day, If You’re So Inclined

Guacamole is always a favourite around here. Give me a big bag of crispy, crunchy tortilla chips (even better if they’re homemade!) and a bowl of guacamole, and I’ll call it dinner. Guacamole, like so many other things in life, is way better when you make it at home. Forget about that weird, bright-green, goopy stuff you see in plastic tubs at the store. That's just masquerading as guacamole. Make the real thing — you won’t regret it.
It is as simple as mashing up some avocado with lime juice, salt, and pepper. I like to add in a bunch of herbs for an extra bit of deliciousness.

Classic Guacamole
serves 2-4
Ingredients
2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
Juice of 1/2 lime, or to taste
1/4 cup diced onion
2 tbsp – 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
1 jalapeno, minced, or to taste
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Tortilla chips, to serve
Instructions
1. In a bowl, use a fork to roughly mash the avocado with the lime juice.
2. Stir in the red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.
3. Taste and season with salt and pepper, adding more lime juice if needed. Enjoy with plenty of tortilla chips!
Note: If you’re adverse to spice but want a little bit in there, just de-seed your peppers. The membranes (white parts) and seeds are the parts of a pepper that are spiciest.
