Amy Schumer is such a cultural force these days that it's baffling to think there was a time when Seth MacFarlane could get away with joking about having no idea who she was. (That was at the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen... see slide two).

She's also divisive: In the past, she's been berated for taking mean jokes too far, while more recently, her debut feature film Trainwreck was accused of succumbing to the classic, Hollywood Happy Ending. The fact that we'd expect something more defiant from Amy is at least a testament to the fact that she's usually pretty badass when it comes to challenging the status quo. She's called bullshit on everything from celebrity role models to the porn industry.

To celebrate a standout year for the American comic, here's a look back at some of Schumer's best stand-up moments.

    The Heckler Takedown (2009)
Way before she was as famous as she is now, Schumer proved she knew how to deal with hecklers.

Key line: "You want to know where I got my boots? Okay, they're at the corner of you can't afford them and stop talking to me."

The Ruthless Charlie Sheen Roast (2011)
Schumer came with guns a-blazing at the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, now often cited as her breakout moment. While some of her barbs will make you howl with laughter, others (specifically the ones aimed at Patrice O'Neal and Steve-O) might make you cringe. Too far? Maybe. You can't say she didn't make an impression though.

Key line: "You have a slutty back tattoo on your face," she said to Mike Tyson.

The Wedding Shower From Hell (2012)
In her 2012 Comedy Central special Mostly Sex Stuff, she did a bit about her reformed "slutty friend" and an utterly unbearable wedding-shower game, the latter of which she wove into her movie Trainwreck. It's a killer part of her repertoire.

Key line: "I'll admit this, it's kind of like your ice cream thing. One time, I let a cab driver finger me."

    The Endings Of Porn (2012)
This is the Schumer we know and love. Sure, it's all very graphic, but her description of the not-so-happy endings in the world of porn is also a pointed commentary about how women are treated.

Key line: "What an amazing Choose Your Own Adventure that always ends exactly the same! There's never a twist."

    Being A Sex Comic (2015)
Schumer's set at this year's Night of Too Many Stars is emblematic of her recent material. She reflects on her experience making Trainwreck and makes observations about the double standards for men and women in Hollywood.

Key line: "I think that I get labelled a 'sex comic' just because I'm a woman. I feel like a guy could get up here and literally pull his dick out, and everyone would be like, 'He's a thinker...'"
