Without fail, the year we're currently living in always seems like the most exciting, most important year that has ever existed. Were the memes last year this funny? Were the celebrity scandals this wild? Did the end of the world feel so close? Admittedly, 2017 is different from years in the past for a few reasons — but the way we experience it isn't.
So, if you're stumped for a Halloween costume, there's no better place to look than the timely, pop culture events that bound us all together. People dress up as zombies, Cinderella, and Cinderella-zombies for Halloween every year. But only in 2017 will dressing up as Michelle Obama holding a Tiffany's box be relevant.
Another plus? Since each of these costumes is based on the shared understanding of a pop culture phenomenon, you're sure to be very popular on Halloween. You'll be a walking inside joke.
